One way to gauge what "quality" means in a tangible way is to investigate the producers of Asian collectibles overseas. An example of such might be the Chinese Figurines of Shiwan. Shiwan has been known as "the Ceramic Capital in China." Shiwan is an old town within the southern component of Guangdong province. Its reputation for attractive and elegant ceramic figurines has been renowned for hundreds of years. Plus, the conventional Shiwan ceramic skills and methods have been passed down through numerous generations of craftsmen. This is 1 example of what high quality workmanship means within the Asian homeland. In Shiwan, there is certainly a location known as "The Figurines Street." The two craftsmen who create Oriental figurines are Master Lin Wei Dung and Master Lin Wei Ho. They are two brothers who are quite nicely recognized in this particular region of China for their unsurpassed skill. Their statues have been made for quite a few years in this region. However, they've received almost no competition for the reason that no other artists are able to match their particular level of detail in producing attractive figurines. Their figurines are not low-cost, for the reason that they're made with such superior skill that they become works of art in a short period of time!

Value of Hummel Plate?
Can anyone tell me the value of an M.J. Hummel collector's plate? It is used, no box, but in excellent shape as far as I can tell. It looks authentic. I got it from a thrift shop for $2. The back says M.J. Hummel "Tender Loving Care" from The M.J. Hummel plate collection Little Companions. An edition limited to 14 full firing days. The Danbury Mint. It has some trademark and copyright information and also has a plate number of MG8210. The date on the back says 1992. Any ideas? I looked on the internet, but found conflicting information. Thanks!
I usually check Ebay for similiar listings and then compare the prices. I hope this helps you.
The lady figurines which have consistently captured this writer's attention are the distinctly "Oriental" assortment. The lady figurine known as "Kimono Dressed Oriental Lady" is made of fine ceramic material. She stands twelve inches tall, and is incredibly attractive with her Japanese colors. Yet another great figurine is the one known as "Oriental Lady Statue Figurine." Like her predecessor, she is twelve inches tall and created of fine ceramic. Nevertheless, her style can be a little much less noticeable. 1 figurine that is quite lovely is referred to as "Beautiful Hand Glazed Geisha Statue." This figurine is eleven inches tall and is produced of fine ceramic. This lady's colors stand out clearly and catch your eye at as soon as. A less noticeable (although still attractive) piece will be the "Asian Antique Style Statue." She has mostly a white ceramic surface with dark hair atop her round head. The figurine referred to as "Traditional Chinese Lady Hand Crafted Statue" is an exquisite work of art. She is sixteen inches tall and crafted out of fine ceramic. The painting and style of this statue gives you an immediate, distinctive "Chinese" feeling! Collecting is really a very fullfiling hobby and also has some great assortment. Could it be action figures, stamps, or the Danbury Mint Hummel on this page, it is going to normally be a joy to collect.
